This Privacy Policy explains how Cultivar Labs LLC collects, uses, and shares information when you use Pheno. By using the Service you consent to this Policy.
Account & profile: email, username, and profile details you provide. Device & usage: a device identifier, app version, and analytics about how you use features. Optional demographics: information you choose to share during onboarding. Grow data: strains, logs, photos/videos, environment readings, and grow-space details you enter. Connected devices: controller settings and sensor readings you connect. Payments: handled by our processors — we do not store full card numbers. Communications: messages and posts you send within the Service.
To provide and personalize the Service (including AI guidance based on your grow context); to operate community and messaging features; to process subscriptions; to measure and improve the app; to keep the Service safe and prevent abuse; and to comply with law. When you use an AI feature — Plant Doctor, Pest ID, Trichome AI, or chat with the in-app assistant — the content you submit to that feature, including the plant photos you upload and the free-text symptom notes and descriptions you type, is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate a response. This content is used to produce your response and is not used to train AI models.
We share information with service providers that help us run the Service — for example Supabase (database, auth, storage), Stripe and RevenueCat (payments/subscriptions), LiveKit (live streaming), Anthropic (AI responses), and analytics/advertising partners — under agreements that limit their use of it. We may share content you choose to make public (posts, profile) with other users. We may disclose information to comply with law or protect rights and safety. We do not exchange your personal information for money. However, some sharing described above — for example providing advertising partners with engagement and aggregate audience information, or using device and usage data for ad measurement — may be considered a "sale" or "share" of personal information under California law (CCPA/CPRA). You can opt out at any time using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control in Settings (see Section 5). We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 21, and we do not share the contents of your AI chats, grow notes, or private messages with advertising partners.
Account deletion: you can permanently delete your account and its data yourself, at any time, from inside the app under Settings → Delete account. Deletion runs immediately and is irreversible; any records not removed at that moment are deleted within 30 days. You can also request deletion by emailing support@growpheno.com. You can edit or delete your content, manage notifications, export your grow logs as CSV, and request access to your personal information. Depending on where you live (e.g., California/CCPA, EU/UK GDPR), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to opt out of certain sharing. California residents can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and limit the use of sensitive personal information, using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control in Settings, or by emailing support@growpheno.com. For users in the EU, EEA, and UK, ad personalization and partner/audience analytics are off by default and apply only if you choose to turn them on using that same control in Settings. You can also adjust device permissions (camera, photos) in your OS settings.
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. When you delete your account, we remove the personal data we hold about you (immediately, with any remainder deleted within 30 days) and best-effort purge your uploaded photos from storage. Some records are retained in anonymized form after deletion: where content is shared or aggregate — for example community strain submissions, and analytics, billing, and revenue records — we sever the link to you (your user identifier is set to null and any denormalized identifying details are scrubbed) rather than delete the row, so the remaining data can no longer be tied back to you. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure.
The Pheno Shop contains affiliate links to third-party retailers, primarily Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, Cultivar Labs LLC earns from qualifying purchases — that is, if you tap a shop link and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We may earn similar commissions from other affiliate retailers we link to. Earning a commission does not change what you pay, and it is not a sale of your personal information. When you tap a shop or affiliate link, you leave Pheno and go to a third-party website (such as Amazon) that is governed by its own privacy policy and terms. That third party may collect information about you — for example through cookies and the affiliate tag included in the link — to attribute the purchase and for its own purposes. This Privacy Policy does not cover third-party sites; please review their policies before providing information or making a purchase.
The Service is intended only for adults of legal cannabis age (at least 21). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact support@growpheno.com and we will delete it.
We may update this Policy; material changes will be noted in-app. For privacy questions or requests, contact Cultivar Labs LLC at support@growpheno.com.
